The Glossostigma elatinoides has been a long-time favorite foreground plant in aquariums. The Glossostigma should be planted in small divisions from several pots in the desired areas of the tank which they then expand and form a dense carpet. It is important to have ample lighting and supplemental CO2 to become a prosperous foreground plant. In low lights the Glossostigma can end up growing vertically, but with good lighting and aquarium tank conditions the plant can grow very quickly and mound on top of itself. The Glossostigma should be trimmed regularly to keep it looking fresh and clean.
